Interview with Andrew Trimble and Gareth Quinn, Kairos

How the Diaspora are helping them expand into new markets

Sports technology company Kairos was established by former Irish and Ulster rugby professional Andrew Trimble and entrepreneur Gareth Quinn. Kairos’ technology helps elite sports clubs and athletes manage busy schedules including training, meetings and physio sessions.

The platform is currently being utilised by elite clubs in every tier of English football, EURO 2021 international sides, Premiership and PRO14 rugby sides, as well as teams in North America and South-East Asia.

The company has invested over £1m in R&D to further develop its successful software platform and mobile app. The new project will increase the software’s functionality and gather data on athlete performance and health, allowing the creation of individually tailored training programmes.

Plans for the future:

A successful seed round of investment has helped the company’s ongoing expansion in the UK and Ireland. The new investment will also help the company open a new office in the US helping it reach the US elite sports market.

One of the investors helping Kairos with their expansion is US-based diaspora Paul McDowell after learning about Kairos’ story on social media Paul reached out to Gareth and Andrew. Paul has been supporting the company with not only investment but by sharing his financial expertise and knowledge of the US market.

We spoke to Andrew and Gareth about their plans for Kairos and what it means to have one of the Northern Irish Diaspora on board supporting them with their growth plans.
