The Friendship Four Returns
The Friendship Four is skating back into town on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November 2025, and it’s bringing serious heat to the ice at The SSE Arena, Belfast.
Since 2015, Belfast has proudly hosted the only NCAA Division 1 men’s ice hockey tournament held outside North America and trust us, it’s a big deal. Think fast-paced action, fierce rivalries, and future NHL stars, all wrapped up in a weekend of high-energy sport and international camaraderie.
What’s the Friendship Four All About?
Born from the sister cities agreement between Belfast and Boston, the Friendship Four is more than just a tournament…it’s a celebration of education, community, and transatlantic friendship. It’s where sport meets social impact, and where Belfast becomes the epicentre of elite college hockey.
This year, four top U.S. colleges are flying in to battle it out for the coveted Belpot Trophy:
- Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)
- Sacred Heart University
- Miami University
- Union College
They’ll be lacing up and facing off in a four-game showdown that’s guaranteed to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Last year’s champs, Boston University, set the bar high. Who will take the crown in 2025?
