Friendship Four returns to the ice in Belfast

After a COVID-enforced hiatus, the Friendship Four ice hockey tournament returns to Belfast’s SSE Arena this November.

The Friendship Four launched in 2015 in support of the Boston/Belfast sister city agreement. The premise of the agreement is to promote economic development, trade & investment, tourism, culture and education linkages between the two cities.

The high-profile tournament, organised by The Odyssey Trust, will bring together four top U.S. college hockey teams to compete for the coveted Belpot trophy. Matches will take place between Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November, in front of an expectant capacity crowd.

Friendship Four is also part of W5’s Science & Discovery Month. This is a special series of events taking place alongside the ice hockey, exploring the science of sport.
