Stage set for the marvelous MELA

Northern Ireland’s largest celebration of cultural diversity

Northern Ireland's largest celebration of cultural diversity and most popular family get together, returned to Botanic Gardens for its biggest festival ever on 25th August 2019.

The Mela transforms the Botanic Gardens into a magical global garden filled with the sights, sounds and aromas of nations right around the world. Music, dance, arts and culture come together to create a heady, good humoured atmosphere which invites the world into the heart of Belfast.

Organised by ArtsEkta, one of Belfast’s leading arts and cultural organisations, this year’s Belfast Mela provided a wonderful family day out to celebrate increasing cultural diversity with music, dance, food and much more from around the world.
